Speech & Language Therapy

Speech therapy is an intervention service that focuses on improving a child's speech and language abilities, including nonverbal, oral and written language. A wide range of handicaps, developmental delays, specific language impairments and learning difficulties can cause difficulty with communication, speech and language development.

The main goal of speech therapy is to allow the child to achieve greater language ability, to communicate with others and to express themselves clearly. Each child will have a different outcome depending on their particular challenges and abilities.

The length of time in speech-language therapy depends on many factors such as severity of the problem, the frequency and consistency of therapy and the consistency of help at home.
